Autumn 09

The first day of Autumn, the fall equinox, harvest home, mabon; all of these names mean today. It looks like Indian Summer is in full swing here. Other than the fact that we had so much rain yesterday that I had to float Erin to work. I havent heard an official amount yet but I'm willing to bet it is between 4 and 6 inches. I took yesterday off as a vacation day and got the yard cleaned up. The only thing left to do is the hedge. I have so many pears on my tree that I have lost 4 branches due to the weight; if only the squirrels had helped me out this year and eaten them instead of my pecans. However my squirrels are uncooperative.

  1. We could use some of that rain. I would be freezing those pears for wonderful baked goods over the winter.
